ROCKS, Inc. Buffalo Soldier Series - LTG(R) Arthur Gregg
About this event
LINKING PAST TRIUMPHS WITH
FUTURE SUCCESSES
Buffalo Soldiers were originally the soldiers of 10th Cavalry Regiment of the US Army, formed on September 21, 1866 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The nickname, Buffalo Soldiers was given to the Black Cavalry by the Native American tribes following the Indian Wars. These soldiers are unsung heroes who helped change how people of color we were viewed in their ability and capacity to serve our nation. They are symbolic of African-Americans and all people of color who continue to serve our nation with an irrepressible spirit of strength and resolve when faced with adversity. Now more than 150 years later as our nation and military still grapples with issues of inclusion and racial diversity, they also represent the spirit of strength, resiliency and legacy of all people of color who choose to serve in today’s military.
The struggles they faced which were prevalent in their day, are some of the same challenges that still exist today. Listen to the stories of African-American General Officers that represent the rich legacy of victory as well as the spirit of comradery, triumph and pride which started with the Buffalo Soldiers. Please join us for what we have named the Buffalo Soldiers Series as general officers share their stories which will inspire you and provide helpful lessons on how you can create your own legacy of success and triumph when faced with challenges or adversity... today!
Join us as the benefactors of this rich history and legacy as they share their stories they raised above race and presumptive labels to succeed. Ask them how you can replicate their success, about the techniques they used or lessons learned during their journey while serving our Army and Nation.
